# xarray.CFTimeIndex.identical

#### CFTimeIndex.identical(other)[[source]](https://github.com/pydata/xarray/blob/main/xarray/../.pixi/envs/doc/lib/python3.15/site-packages/pandas/core/indexes/base.py#L5956-L6002)

Similar to equals, but checks that object attributes and types are also equal.

While [`Index.equals()`](xarray.Index.equals.html.md#xarray.Index.equals) only checks that the elements are the same,
this method additionally verifies that the Index objects have matching
types and attributes (e.g., `name`).

* **Parameters:**
  **other** ([`Index`](https://pandas.pydata.org/pandas-docs/stable/reference/api/pandas.Index.html#pandas.Index)) – The Index object you want to compare with the current Index object.
* **Returns:**
  [`bool`](https://docs.python.org/3/builtins/functions.html#bool) – If two Index objects have equal elements and same type True,
  otherwise False.
