# xarray.CFTimeIndex.name

#### *property* CFTimeIndex.name

Return Index or MultiIndex name.

The name (or label) of an Index provides metadata that can be used
to identify the axis in DataFrames and Series.

* **Returns:**
  `label (hashable object)` – The name of the Index.
