# xarray.DataArray.str.lower

#### DataArray.str.lower()[[source]](https://github.com/pydata/xarray/blob/main/xarray/core/accessor_str.py#L726-L746)

Convert strings in the array to lowercase.

* **Returns:**
  **lowered** (`same type as values`)
